Hawksnest Snow Tubing (Seven Devils)
Hawksnest bills itself as one of the largest snow tubing parks on the East Coast, with up to 30 lanes across four tubing areas, so there's a gentle hill for little kids and steeper lanes for thrill-seekers.
- Season: tickets for 2026–27 are on sale. Hawksnest is tentatively planning to open Thanksgiving weekend, weather and snowmaking permitting.
- Sessions: 1 hour 45 minutes. Weekday sessions start at 10 AM, noon, 2 PM and 4 PM, and Friday and Saturday add a 6 PM session.
- Prices: $46 Monday to Thursday, $53 Friday, and $59 Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Its 2026–27 holiday dates are Nov 27, Dec 14 to Jan 1, Jan 17–18 and Feb 14–15.
- Weekday deal: buy a $46 weekday session, then add a second session the same day for $10 (in person only; not Fridays, weekends or holidays).
- Closed: Wednesdays (except holidays) and Christmas Day.

Address: 2058 Skyland Drive, Seven Devils, NC 28604.
Sugar Mountain Resort tubing
Sugar's tubing park sits across the street from the ski resort's base lodge. Its 700-foot lanes have a Magic Carpet conveyor to carry you back to the top, plus snowmaking and lights for night tubing.
- Sessions: 1 hour 45 minutes, at 10 AM, noon, 2 PM, 4 PM, 6 PM and 8 PM, conditions permitting.
- Prices: $45 on weekdays and $56 on weekends and holidays. Holiday pricing applies December 17, 2026, to January 1, 2027.
- Little ones: ages 3 and 4 ride for $4 with a ticketed adult. Those passes are sold in person; everything else is online only.
- Booking: tickets go on sale online up to two days before your visit and sell out. You can buy up to six at a time, so larger groups may need two orders.
- Wear: warm layers, gloves and durable shoes. Ski boots aren't allowed on the runs.
Sugar also has ice skating and skiing, so it's an easy place to split a group between activities.
Beech Mountain Resort tubing
Beech Mountain is the highest of the three, and the farthest drive from Blowing Rock.
- Sessions: 1.5 hours. Monday to Thursday at noon, 2 PM and 4 PM, plus a 6 PM night session. Friday to Sunday and holiday periods add 10 AM and 8 PM.
- Prices: $45 on weekdays and $53 on weekends, plus a $2 fee for the reusable ticket card.
- Rules: riders must be at least 42 inches tall, one person per tube, and children can't ride on a parent's lap.

Which park should you pick?
- Youngest kids (ages 3–4): Hawksnest or Sugar. Both take ages 3 and up, and Beech has a 42-inch height minimum.
- The most lanes: Hawksnest, with up to 30 lanes in four areas.
- Night tubing with the latest start: Sugar runs an 8 PM session every day, and Beech adds 8 PM on weekends and holidays.
- Splitting the group: Sugar, where skiers, skaters and tubers can all spend the day at the same resort.
- Closest to Blowing Rock: Hawksnest, by a little.
Tips for a good tubing day
- Book early. All three sell tickets in advance by session, and weekends and holidays sell out.
- Check the weather and road conditions before you leave, and give yourself extra time on mountain roads. Each park can adjust or cancel sessions for weather.
- Dress for snow: waterproof gloves, a hat and boots with good grip. Sugar and Beech don't allow ski boots on the tubing runs.
- Sign the waiver in advance where the park offers it online, to save time at check-in.
- Plan the rest of the day. A morning session leaves the afternoon free for Main Street, and an evening session ends right in time for a late dinner.

After tubing: your warm-up spot in Blowing Rock
The Jungle House is a 3-bedroom, 3-bath condo inside Chetola Resort, a 4-minute drive from downtown Blowing Rock.
- Room for seven: a king suite plus two rooms with twin beds, and one of the upstairs twin rooms also has a twin sleeper sofa. That's a good fit for one big family or two small ones.
- Two 2-person Jacuzzi tubs, upstairs and downstairs, for cold legs.
- A washer and dryer for wet snow clothes, and a full kitchen for hot chocolate and a big dinner in.
- A stone wood-burning fireplace. Bring your own firewood; it isn't supplied.
- A trail 30 seconds from the door, about a 3-minute walk to the Bass Lake loop in Moses H. Cone Memorial Park, part of the Blue Ridge Parkway, a unit of the National Park System. It's a pretty snowy walk on a lazy morning.
