Frequently asked questions
What time are check-in and check-out?
Check-in is after 4:00 PM and checkout is before 11:00 AM.
How do I get in?
Self check-in with a smart lock. You'll get your entry details before arrival.
Where do I park?
Free on-site guest parking at the Blue Ridge Building. There's also a Level 2 EV charger. See getting to Chetola Resort.
Are pets allowed?
No, pets aren't allowed.
Are kids welcome?
Yes. Children of all ages (0–17) are welcome. The person renting must be at least 25.
What are the tubs like?
Both suites have a 2-person whirlpool (Jacuzzi) tub in the ensuite bathroom, one upstairs and one downstairs. Each bath also has a walk-in shower.
Is the indoor pool or gym included?
No. Chetola's indoor pool and fitness center are not included. Kayak and lake access and the walking trails are available.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, there's Wi-Fi throughout the home.
Are there cameras?
There's one exterior Ring camera outside the front door. There are no cameras inside the home.
What fees and taxes apply?
There's a two-night minimum stay and a $160 cleaning fee per stay. Booking direct on this site takes 7% off the nightly rate. Stays are also subject to the Town of Blowing Rock's 6% occupancy tax and NC/Watauga County sales tax of 6.75%. There's no deposit to pay, but there is a refundable security hold (below).
What's the cancellation policy?
Moderate. Cancel at least 5 days before check-in for a full refund. If you cancel later (or don't show up), you get 50% of the nightly rent back, plus the full cleaning fee and all taxes. Card processing fees are never deducted. See the Rental Agreement.
Is there a security deposit?
There's no deposit to pay. Instead, a refundable $400 security hold is placed on your card about a day before check-in and released 3 days after checkout. A hold is a temporary authorization, not a charge. It's only used for documented damage, as set out in the Rental Agreement.
Why do you ask me to verify my ID?
After booking, the primary renter verifies a government photo ID with a quick selfie through Stripe Identity. It takes about two minutes and protects you, us and our neighbors at Chetola. We send entry details once it's done.

You'll be staying in someone's home, so please treat it with care and respect. The full terms are in our Rental Agreement, which you accept when you book.

Safety & property
- Exterior security camera on property: one Ring camera outside the front door
- Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms installed
- Fire extinguisher and first aid kit
Before you leave
- Load and start the dishwasher.
- Strip any used beds, gather used towels, and store extra beds.
- Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash. The trash enclosure is at the bottom of the hill on your left after you leave the condo. Look for the large gray wooden enclosure.
- Turn off the lights.
- Lock only the smart lock when leaving. Please don't lock the door handle, because it needs a physical key to reopen.
